Garrison, Janet croppedJanet Garrison “GG” was born on April 1, 1935 and passed from this earthly world into her heavenly home on December 11, 2019.

Janet was born on April 1, 1935 in Skelton, West Virginia, to Hildred Agee and Frank Ferguson. After the deaths of her parents she moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma to live with her sister, Frankie Ferguson. In Stillwater, she met and married Charles Albert Garrison on September 14, 1953. Of this union two children were born, Karen Elaine Garrison Cash and Charles Edward Garrison.

Janet and Charles moved to Midwest City where they raised their family. Janet worked for 40 years as an Elementary School Secretary in Midwest City.

Janet had three grandchildren that she loved very much. She never missed a birthday or an event that the children celebrated. They lovingly referred to her has GG, for Granny Garrison. She was always good for giving a great foot rub and a heated political debate. She also would often brag that she liked doing her own lawn until she was 82 and after that nobody ever did it correctly. She enjoyed watching old westerns and frequently visited the casinos.

Over the years she had numerous pets that she loved dearly. She always had a little dog, even naming one after her daughter, Sissy. Her current dog is Pepper. When you went to visit GG, she would ask you to bring two hamburgers, one for her and one for Pepper.

Janet was a simple spirit. GG loved her family and her pets. She loved deeply and unconditionally. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bob Cash of Edmond, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Michelle Garrison of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren; Bill Cash and wife Janaki, Matthew and wife Audrey , Meghan Rowe and husband James. Great grandchildren; Roma Cash, Elaina Cash, Raylee Cash, Farrah Rowe, Scarlett Rowe

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, December 20th, at Matthews Funeral Home.

Even though we lost contact many years ago, I still remember my friend. We played many basketball games in the Mother’s League at Eastside Elementary School in Midwest City. Janet had a sharp eye for the basket! My condolence to Karen and Charles and their families.

  2. My sincere condolences to the family. I was knew her as aunt Janet she was my favorite cousin’s mom married to my favorite uncle Charles we had so much fun as kids getting together when we could and doing fun things together like camping are going to see our grandmothers it was always a fun time with Janet and Charles.
When I was an adult she was still so much fun to talk to and be around I know she will really be missed.
