Evelyn Louise George
1937-2021
Evelyn Louise George, 83, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, passed away on January 4, 2021 at her home. She was born September 11, 1937 at home in Arcadia, Oklahoma to Tom and Blanche Prewitt. Evelyn graduated from Edmond High School in 1955. She married Richard C. Walker in 1962. A daughter, Tara, was born in 1963 and a son, Richard, was born in 1966. She worked for several years as an executive secretary and also as a realtor while raising her two children. Later, she married Dick L. George in 1985. She went on to pursue her Criminal Justice degree from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma graduating in 1988. Upon graduation, she worked for a short while for the Department of Human Services in Comanche County as a social worker. Evelyn was a wonderful source of support for her family and loved them dearly. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, sister Emma Jean Smith and brother Harold Prewitt. She is survived by husband, Dr. Dick George of Blanchard, Oklahoma, one sister, Teresa King and son Eric, of Edmond, Oklahoma, daughter, Tara Walker-Price and husband Mike of Oklahoma City, son, Richard Walker and fiancée, Amber Dickinson of Pauls Valley, step-children, Bryan George and wife Nikki with children Timmy and Anna, Kyle George and wife, Danyelle, and child Daniel, Erin Fulcher and husband, Garry with children Dale and Garry, grandchildren Cristina Beaty and husband Ken with children Adelynn and Alexis, Lori Brewer and husband Jason with children Lucas, Nathan and Zoe, Rachel Overturf and husband Bobby with child Lincoln; Jacob Walker, Makenzie Hackney and child Lydia.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m., Thursday, January 7th at Matthews Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma.
