Andrew Periman
September 15, 1966 – August 22, 2014
Andrew came into our family in a very special way. Through God’s grace and the miracle of adoption he became ours. Andrew was born September 15, 1966 at St. Vincent’s Infirmary in Little Rock, Arkansas. He always considered himself an Arkansan.
He endured many medical issues, but always possessed a positive attitude. Andrew attended Edmond schools, graduating from Memorial High School. Andrew really loved his church and attended faithfully. He is survived by his parents, Frank and Merlene Periman, one sister, Tara Fields and Brother in law, Brian Fields all of Edmond, the city he loved. We lost him August 22, 2014 at Mercy Hospital. He entered the kingdom of God fully restored and praising Jesus.
Services are 1:00 p.m. Tuesday August 26, 2014 at First Baptist Church with interment to follow at Bradley Cemetery, Bradley, Oklahoma.
Memorials may be made to the Okla. Baptist Homes for Children.

I got to know Andrew in our single class at F.B.C. Andrew will be miss, Andrew was always ready to go anywhere with our class. We had a trip to Branson, We all had a great time,Andrew never let is disability stop him. He was almost always the first one I would see in class. My prayers go out to his family and friends. Andrew will be miss, but God is good and we will see him again.
I am very sorry for your loss. Andrew was in my class in high school. I especially remember having him in Chemistry class with Mrs. Jean Adams. It was definitely a challenge for him but he was determined to rise to the occasion. Mainstreaming was relatively new to the classroom; there were many students unsure of how to incorporate him into our “regular” class situation. He seemed to approach the situation as if it were perfectly normal to him. He opened my eyes a little more to seeing people beyond their disabilities.
Much later when my daughter began attending Oklahoma Christian, she remarked in positive ways about Andrew’s work in the cafeteria. Small world. Maybe she learned a little from Andrew as well.
I met the Periman’s when they moved to Collierville. Tara instantly became my best friend, Frank and Merlene were like my second pair of parents, and Andrew was the big brother I never had. He had such a wonderful heart, and I will always remember he had such a positive attitude. He never complained, he was always so positive. He was always so sweet and patient with Tara and me, driving us places, shooting fireworks with us, etc. I love this family as much as I love my own, and it breaks my heart that Andrew is no longer with us, but we all know he is in a better place, watching over us. We love you Andrew!
Dear Merlene and Frank,
How fortunate we have been to have you as neighbors for so many years. We remember with fondness the times when Andrew would be at our house and he and Matthew would be planning their latest caper. It made my day when Andrew would drive by and give me a smile and a wave. We have lost a precious ray of light. We are happy to know that he is with our Creator.

I’m very saddened to learn of Andrew’s passing. He was such a great brother-in-law. I have many fond memories of him. I will miss him very much. My heart goes out to all the family.
