Wilma Baillie Mastell

December 18, 1930 – May 17, 2021

Wilma Baillie Mastell, 90, passed away May 17, 2021, in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was born on December 18, 1930 in Canton, Ohio, to Mary and John Baillie. Growing up, Wilma enjoyed ice skating, double dutch, ballroom dancing and reading. Wilma graduated from Timken Vocational High School in 1948. She then worked for the State of Ohio and was proficient in writing short hand.

Wilma married her husband of 63 years, Lee Mastell, in Canton, Ohio, on September 28, 1957. They had a five-year honeymoon traveling across the country together while Lee worked installing parking meters.

Wilma and Lee had their son Scott Mastell in 1962 while living in Houston and their daughter Laurie Mastell Miller in 1966 while living in Tulsa. They moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1971 where they have lived for the last 50 years. Wilma loved raising her children. She never missed one of Scott’s many sporting events and loved traveling the state for Laurie’s tennis tournaments. As a family, they enjoyed traveling, playing ping pong and tennis, riding motorcycles in their neighborhood and spending time in the sun. Wilma was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Edmond for 50 years. After raising her kids, Wilma spent time working in the family business, Lee Mastell & Associates, as well as golfing with Lee and friends.

Wilma enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on her OSU Cowboys, Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Browns. Wilma loved animals and enjoyed the many pets she had throughout her life.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Mary and John Baillie. She is survived by her husband Lee Mastell, her son Scott Mastell and wife Kelley, daughter Laurie Mastell Miller and husband Kelly, and grandchildren, Gavin Mastell, Baillie McGinnis and husband Connor and Blake Miller.

Service will be held Monday May 24th, 2:00 PM at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S Kelley, Edmond, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, Wilma requested donations be made to Free to Live Animal Sanctuary.
