Richardson, WillisWillis Glen Richardson


Willis Glen Richardson was born in McPherson, KS on July 17, 1918. He departed this life at Edmond OU Hospital in Edmond, OK on January 17, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Zerlina and a son Butch.

He is survived by his daughter in-law Jan Huelskamp, granddaughter Kimberly Hedges, her husband Troy Hedges and their son Riley Hedges.

Glen was a Kansas High School graduate and then went on to Wichita State University on a golf scholarship. He enjoyed playing golf and was very good at it for many years in his life. He entered any golf competition that he could and usually ended up winning. He found humor in always beating the “youngsters”.

He was an avid musician and played in “The Big Band” group back in the day. He collected many guitars over the years and played each week with his band of buddies. He was very close to his friends back in Statesville, NC. He was an overall handyman who loved to be tinkering in his shed each day with new projects. He was also an Army veteran who proudly served in WWII. He was in sales most of his life until he retired to do the things that he enjoyed doing the most, like: fishing, boating or being anywhere near water. He also loved food and enjoyed Zerlina’s cooking for over 80 Years of marriage.

Glen’s ashes will be sent to Hutchinson, KS to be next to his wife and son.


  1. I will never play “I’m Confessin’ that I Love You” and not think of Glen and all the musical numbers he taught me. It was my great pleasure to have known Glen and Zerlina and they will both be remembered fondly.
