1948-2017
Willie Edward “Eddie” Jones, Jr., 69, passed away on October 19, 2017 in Edmond, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family. Eddie was born May 3, 1948 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Willie Edward Jones, Sr., and Hazel Ruth (Williams) Jones. Eddie grew up alongside his siblings: sister Mary Lou Moss, brothers; Tommy Lee Jones and John Michael Jones. Eddie graduated from Classen High School in 1967. He later married Susan Rebecca Campbell on November 22, 1980 in Del City, Oklahoma. Eddie spent 1967-1970 in the United States Army; including one tour in the Vietnam War. He later went to work for Fleming Foods from 1978-2002. From 2002-2013 he was self-employed running his own business. Eddie was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church for 35 years. Outside of work and church he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going to garage sales, collecting coins and vintage records.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Susan Jones, son John and wife Larissa Campbell, daughters Sarah and husband Todd Burkhead, and Katie and husband Dean Brodsky. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Dakota Grace Campbell, Misha Noel Campbell, Kaiden Elizabeth Burkhead, Aven Rose Burkhead, Lincoln Rae Burkhead, Devi Piper Granec, Abby Diane Sadler, Zach Brodsky, and brother Tommy and wife Stella Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents Willie and Hazel Jones, grandchildren; Lily Azalee Sadler, and Lane Grace Burkhead, sister Mary Lou Moss, and brother John Michael Jones.
Memorial services will be held at Lakeside United Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Randy McGuire will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, OK.
The family would like to thank Good Shepherd Hospice for their care and support, especially his nurse and friend Mona Gray.
