William Manus Love
Bill Love was born the first of seven sons to William, Sr. & Pauline Hathcock Love on December 16, 1937 at Konawa, Oklahoma. He spent most of his early life in Konawa, where he graduated from high school in 1956. He married his high school sweetheart, Willa Rollins, on March 21, 1958. Their only child, son Larry, was born in January 1962. They spent most of there 62 years of marriage living in northwest Oklahoma City, until moving to Bradford Village, Edmond, in 2014.
Bill’s land surveying profession began in 1958 and he later received his Oklahoma State Licensed Professional Land Surveyor license. He became well known as one of the State’s most competent surveyors as he made surveys in many towns and areas throughout the state. Bill had many successful accomplishments in his life, but felt his greatest accomplishment was when he made the decision to accept Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. He was a 30-year member of Northwest Christian Center where he served as a deacon for many years and ministered anywhere in the church he was needed.
When Bill, with his many health issues, reached the point where Willa was unable to care for him in their Bradford Village home, he went to live at BV Assisted Living. Like thousands of others, life was not good for Bill when his only way to communicate with his wife was by phone through a glass window or door. He longed for the time he could once again put his arms around her, tell her he loved her and give her a goodnight kiss.
In his personal life, Bill was known for his wisdom and his kind and gentle ways. He wasn’t much of a talker, but instead was a listener and when he did speak, like E.F. Hutton, everybody listened. He was a wonderful, loving husband and father and felt sure that his wife and son were two of God’s greatest creations. His worse and saddest moment in life was the death of his son in May, 2000. In addition to his son, he is also predeceased by his parents and brothers Jerry, Jack, Len, Ben, Don, and Tim. He is survived by his wife, several wonderful nephews, other family members, and very special people David and Lesa Garrison and Nancy Johnston. While we sadly mourn Bill’s death here on earth, we are comforted by what must be the reunion in heaven by father and son.
We wish to thank the staff at Bradford Village Assisted Living for the wonderful, loving care they gave Bill. Family and friend’s visitation is Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m. and the service is Monday, October 12th, 11:00 a.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond. Willa,
So very, very sad of this news….but, now, he is at peace.
I am thinking of you and praying for you and yours.
As you know, I lost a husband 2009 and a daughter 2016.
I am trying to be safe and yet hope to attend one of the two
services.
If there is something – anything – I can do for you, please
let me know.
God Bless you and yours.
