William Duane Bradley

William Duane Bradley (Brad)

1933-2021

William Duane Bradley, 88, of Edmond, OK passed away on Saturday February 27, 2021. After battling health issues for many years, he died peacefully while in the hospital.

Brad was born on January 21, 1933 in Morning Sun, Iowa to James R. Bradley and Bessie M. (Proffitt) Bradley.

He graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1950.  He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1950-1954 and later reenlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955.

Brad retired from the Armed Forces in 1971. From there he began a career with the United States Postal Service before retiring in 1992 as the Postmaster for Climax Springs, Missouri.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Jimmy, Lyle, and Ryle Bradley.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Mrs. Roberta (Marr) Bradley, their twin sons Marc, and Gary and Gary’s wife Cheryl.

Brad was a proud and devoted husband, father, and grandfather to four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter: grandson Justin, his wife Whitney, and their daughter Charlotte; grandsons Joshua, Jacob, and granddaughter Lauren.

He never met a stranger and was a good friend to all. He loved to talk about cars, politics, military, and his family. Brad truly cared for others regardless of his own circumstances. He lived his life to the fullest and focused on small pleasures such as daily drives to Lake Arcadia with his beloved wife and loyal dog, Buster.

Brad will be remembered for his smile, witty sense of humor, and his unconditional love. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and remember the lasting memories of a wonderful man.

William will be laid to rest in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St Louis, MO on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in William’s name.
