William Connor Reid

1990-2015

Reid, William ConnorWilliam Connor Reid left this earth on June 2, 2015.

Born August 24, 1990 to Missy and Perry Reid, Connor was a joy and a firecracker. He had a mischievous twinkle in his green eyes that could win over anyone he met. Connor was a rambunctious toddler, energetic youth, daring teen, and a thoughtful, deeply caring young man. He made friends everywhere he went and he was fiercely devoted to them.

Born in Houston, Texas and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma, Connor attended Chisholm Elementary, Cimarron Middle School, and Edmond Memorial High School. He was a natural athlete and loved playing soccer, football, and baseball. He loved skateboarding, snowboarding, spending time with friends and road trips with his family. Connor was brave and daring to a fault and he was always the one who would try anything. Most of all he loved his family and they loved him. This love will never end.

After graduating high school, Connor spent time in Colorado, Michigan, Oregon, and Arizona, where his circle of friends grew even larger. He shared his loving spirit with all those he met. He touched numerous lives and they touched his.

Waiting for him in Heaven are his grandparents Bill and Felicia Reid, his grandfather Carmelo Perez and far too many fellow addiction casualties. He is, and always will be, deeply missed by his parents Perry and Missy Reid, brothers Kyle and Brett Reid, sister Sarah Reid, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, friends, and brave warriors still fighting to win the battle.

Godspeed on your journey Connor – jets on!

Viewing will be from 6-8 pm Friday, June 5, 2015 at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S Kelly, Edmond, Oklahoma. Service to be held at 10:00 am Saturday at Matthews Funeral Home.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Reid and Family,

I did not know your son but I cried when I read his obituary. My daughter is a recovering addict and I know the pain you have gone through in your short time with your son.

I can only hope that I am as loving to my daughter (and I try) as you are in your memories of him.

    Blessings on your family.

    Sincerely,

    Kristan Geissel

  4. Hi, I just heard about Connor and I am so sorry! I met Connor at rehab in Cushing and he was one of my favorite people! He wasn’t thrilled to be there at first, sat through group with his arms crossed, head down, pissed off written all over but he finally came around and opened up and we all spent so much time laughing and goofing off and had a lot of fun! I really thought Conner would do well at that long term and am so sorry for to your entire family for such an extraordinary loss! I will always have great memories of him, I’m glad I was given the chance to meet him.
