William C.(Bill) Hast entered his heavenly home June 15, 2013. He was born Feb. 6, 1921 to William and Mattie Hast. He is survived by his wife, Joan, children Charles “Chuck” Hast and wife Iliana, Tim Hast and wife Ruthie, and Jill Hast-Mooney and husband Charles; grandchildren Michael Hast, wife Jennifer; Daniel Hast, wife Joy; Hannah Mooney and Jonathan Mooney; great grandson, Isaac Hast; one sister, Eleanor Clifton. He was preceded in death by sisters Louise Hast Hodgson and Lillian Hast, and brother John W. Hast.

His Savior, family, and souls were his priority. He never met a soul that he didn’t love and hold in prayer. He pastored Bodine Baptist Church seventeen years, then God called him to the mission field of Puerto Rico. He labored there 30 years touching many lives starting a number of churches. An humble and unassuming man, he was bestowed an honorary Doctorate by Puerto Rico Baptist College. It took him 3 years to accept, because he didn’t feel worthy of it. He loved his Spanish Sunday school class at Edmond Road Baptist Church. He loved Spanish and was still studying French at the time he became ill.

Our loss is Heaven’s gain today.

Services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 19, 2013 at the Edmond Road Baptist Church with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
