1939 – 2019
William (Bill) C. Mitchell, a long time Edmond resident, passed away on January 17, 2019 at Integris Hospital in Edmond at the age of 79.
Born October 4, 1939 in Highland Park, Michigan to Norman and Margaret (Hanson) Mitchell. He attended Michigan College of Mining and Technology in Houghton, Michigan and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He married Sandra (Hribar) Mitchell on August 17, 1963 in Detroit. The Mitchell’s moved to Edmond in 1977. Bill spent his life long career employed with General Motors. He continued to work for them as a consultant after his retirement.
Bill is survived by his daughter Sheila (Mitchell) Davis of Oklahoma City, son William Mitchell, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, grandchildren, Max Wong, Brookelyn Mitchell, Drake Mitchell, and McKenzie Mitchell, and his sister Mary Lou (Dave) Morgan of Harrisville, Michigan and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sandra, his daughter, Tami (Mitchell) Wong, and his granddaughter, Kelsey Bransby.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 31st at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Paul Calkin officiating.
Bill, I will always remember the little things you said and how well you took care of your family! I’m going to miss Sheila telling me the funny things you said and did.
I send my condolences to the family. Bill was a very good family man that I have a lot of respect for.
