William “Bill” Heaton, Jr.Heaton, Bill

1952-2019

William B Heaton Jr. (Bill) was born to William B. Heaton Sr. (Red) & Thelma Heaton on May 8th, 1952, in Roswell, New Mexico. He was the youngest child of three children. Bill worked hard at his studies while also working to put himself through college. He was the first in his family to graduate from college.  After graduating from New Mexico State University, he went to work as a manager at Piggly Wiggly in Las Cruces, NM. Wanting to be closer to family, he then moved back to Roswell and worked for Fairmont Foods. In 1980 he began working for Dr. Pepper in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bill was promoted and moved several times through a total of 39 years with the company.

He loved God, his family and his work. He loved getting together with family and tried to make all gatherings he could. He is known best as “Uncle Bill” not only to his nieces and nephews, but to many friends he counted as family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Red, mother, Thelma, and oldest sister, Betty. He is survived by his sister, Janet Barton, nieces, Nicole Adams and Marcy Dodd, six great nieces, one great nephew, and two great-great nephews. He was precious to all who loved him and will be missed greatly.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Edmond Church of Christ.

Such a fine man! Some people spend a lifetime wondering if they made a difference. Bill Heaton never had that problem. He was respected by all of his friends and customers and loved and admired by his family.I am personally so very grateful that Bill crossed my life’s path. Dedicated, determined and dependable. He was an excellent manager who never required follow up by his managers. Bottom line he excelled in any project or business matter that he was assigned. I always deeply valued his friendship and professionalism. Rest In Peace dear friend. TGS

Dear family, so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. I tried for years to find him and say hello. He was my apartment mate while we were in school. He was fun and overall great guy. God bless.
