Willa Dean Lewis-Freie was born June 27, 1926 near Verden, Oklahoma to Claude and Ellen Duren. She was the oldest of nine Children. She left this life March 4, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Lewis, second husband, James Freie, parents, three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by Daughter, Vonna Lovett; Son Dennis Lewis and wife Rozanne; three grandchildren: Chelsea Blake and Fiance Aaron Baker, Darci Craghead and husband Terry; and Dr. Kristina Booth; six great grandchildren; Bryson and Brayden Blake, Isabel Baker; Sydney, Callum, and Finn Craghead; two brothers and one sister.
She was a good person, always there for family and friends, true to her word and trying to do the right thing. She loved a good joke and seemed to have a new one every time you saw her. She was active in her church and dedicated to the Lord. She loved to cook and loved to eat, especially candy. We who were her family and friends miss her more than we can say. Like those who have gone on before her, she may be in a better place; but the world was a better place with her in it.
The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice and Tealridge Memory Care for their outstanding service and assistance and care during this difficult time.
Services will be held Monday March 7, 2016 at Matthews Funeral Home chapel at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Dean was a lovely lady. A longtime family friend. I have many good memories of church fellowships at Herman and Deans Home in Anadarko.
