Wanda Jo Jackson

Wanda Jo Jackson, known as Jo, was born September 2nd, 1932, in Haworth, Oklahoma to C.R. & Lena Terry. She completed this life on Thursday February 2nd, 2023, at the age of 90 with her family present. While becoming a widow three times and losing her son Terry she also had many successes.

Early in her life she was a homemaker in Idabel, Oklahoma. At the age of 30 she moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma with her children and second husband where she attended cosmetology school. She trained very hard and went on to become a licensed advanced instructor. She continued in the field where she owned and operated her own beauty salon with six stations for over ten years.

At this time she sold the salon and moved back to Idabel with her husband for the primary purpose of taking care of her elderly mother, Lena. It was at that time that Jo and her husband established and opened Webb’s Jewelry Store in Idabel. She continued to work in the store until her retirement. Later in 2016 Jo sold her home and moved to Edmond to be closer to her daughter, Deana and her grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.

Jo had many hobbies in her life including water skiing and bowling in two leagues. In her later years she also took up the game of golf and became an avid participant. She was an active member of the Idabel Women’s Golfing Association. She even scored a hole-in-one on 06-21-1996 using a 5 wood on #14, which is a 132 yard par 3 at the Idabel Country Club.

Jo Jackson will be missed every day, but not forgotten by her loving family.
