Virginia”Jinger” Roberts
Virginia (Jinger) Lee Roberts, was born on May 31, 1944, to E.R. (Jack) & Virginia Smith in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed away on February 25, 2020. She graduated from Northwest Classen in 1962 and attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. She had various jobs such as a beauty operator and apartment manager. She married Butch Roberts in 1971 and together raised their kids Denise Spence, Landon Spence, and Kelli Parks. Butch & Jinger enjoyed 48 years together living in Edmond, OK with their three children. She had a very successful career at Southwestern Bell (later named AT&T) for 34 years, from 1972 until 2006.
Jinger was an amazing wife, mom, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved to travel, try new restaurants, be outside, and try out any waterslide along the way. She loved to spend time with her friends, especially her monthly bunco group and lunch bunch. Many years were spent at the lake house or by their pool enjoying the outdoors. Her greatest love was her husband, but next in line was chocolate and her rose gardens. She always enjoyed traveling to any casino with Butch or just going out to eat with him. She loved him fiercely along with all of her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Her love for Butch and her children was always in the forefront.
She is survived by her husband, Butch Roberts; their three children and spouses, Denise Spence, Landon & Kelli Spence, Kelli & Dennis Parks; her sister Nancy & Larry Beckman; 5 grandchildren Rilee, Tanner, Lexi, Jason, & Jennifer; 2 great grandchildren, Luna & Brielle; and lots of other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Eugene Ryan (Gene) Smith. Services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, 10am at Mathews Funeral Home at 601 S. Kelly in Edmond.

Jinger, we love you and miss you dearly! Don’t worry about Butch we will take good care of him.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Jinger was a very loving person. She always talked about Butch & her kids with all the love in the world. I worked with her at SWBT. I am very so for your loss.
Jinger and Kathy Garnett would walk down Big Cedar for exercise and stop and visit when they would see me working in my front yard. I am a neighbor at the opposite end of the block,, I have lived here 42 years. I remember Jinger liked talking about home improvement,,( I always have a home project in the works,) I was enclosing in my front porch and Jinger said ” I think I need to do that for my plants”. Her front porch looked great after she finished her project. She would always wave when she passed by my house.. Jinger I know everyone will miss you. I feel lucky to have known you over these years. Rick
