Tom Truscott Rogers

June 10, 1936 – February 9, 2015

 

Tom Truscott Rogers was born on Wednesday, June 10, 1936. He was reunited in death with Norma, his wife of 54 years, on February 9, 2015. He shared his joy of living with the lives of many for 78 years. Growing up, Tom was an athlete, excelling at tracktom rogers main (obit ) and football. His favorite team is OSU, since he played football for OSU in his early years. Hunting, fishing, and golf were among his other interests. His favorite pastime was attending the horse races. He also loved his job as sales manager for Freeman North American and received many top sales awards. Tom was a devoted husband, father, friend, and caregiver. He brought so much love and joy to his friends and family. His grin, along with his positive attitude, was priceless and will be missed by many that knew and loved him. Tom was preceded in death by his: Loving wife Norma Jean; Parents Truck and Loveta; Sister Suzanne; Brother Robert Richard; and Great-Grandson Clayton Russell. Tom is survived by: daughters Jan Russell and son-in-law Wes Russell; Linda Scott and son-in-law Rick Scott; and Cathy Thomas and son-in-law Jack Thomas; Grandchildren Ryan Russell, Brent Russell, Kevin Chartney, Kyle Chartney, Katelyn Scott, Leigh Ann Thomas, and John Thomas; Great-Grandchildren Austin Russell, Riley Russell, Blakely Russell, Kinsley Russell, Bryce Chartney, Cael Chartney, Grace Chartney, Jude Chartney, and Sydnie Chartney; and Great-Great-Grandchild Leo Russell. Funeral Services will be 10:00am  Friday February 13, 2015 at Crossings Community Church in the Chapel with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Edmond, Oklahoma.
