Thomas C. Newton, 88, of Edmond OK was born March 23, 1926 to Tom and Mildred Newton in Haskell County in Oklahoma and went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 18, 2014.

He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1944 to 1946. Thomas married Jacola McKinney in May of 1947. Thomas worked at C.R. Anthony’s in Okmulgee OK and then moved to Edmond to work in the C.R. Anthony General Office. He worked for Anthony’s nearly 40 years and was promoted to Executive Vice President. Both he and his wife were members of Waterloo Baptist Church in Edmond.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and 2 brothers. He is survived by two sisters, Virginia Oliver and Martha Collins, his son Phillip Newton and his wife, Mary, 3 granddaughters Bridget Wade, Juli Griffith and Monique Ferro who love him

very much. He is also survived by 3 great-grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters.

There will be no formal service. The family will gather at a later date to celebrate both Thomas and Jacola’s lives in a family ceremony. Per Thomas and Jacola’s directions, his and her ashes will be scattered by the granddaughters at a place that has not yet been designated.

    Mr. Newton (I can only call him that out of respect & habit) was my first boss out of college at CR Anthony’s general office. Suffice it to say, he set the bar high for all of my bosses that have come since. He and Jacola were class acts! (They lived next door to my parents.) I am so sorry for the family’s losses.
