Sylvia Kathleen Bitter
1941-2024
Heaven welcomed a gracious and kind lady on September 10, 2024. Sylvia K. Bitter was born in Idabel, Oklahoma on April 6, 1941, to Ernestine and Stanley Graff. After graduation, she became a Beautician and married Daniel L. Bitter in 1965.
Dan and Sylvia moved to Amarillo, Texas after marriage and she began her long career with Sears. She started out as a retail associate with Sears and won many awards.
Dan and Sylva moved to Citrus Heights, California and then to Edmond, Oklahoma where she retired from Sears with 25 years of service.
She enjoyed 16 years of traveling with Dan and was an avid collector of chickens and miniature glassware and made a hobby of collecting match covers. Her loving and caring heart will be remembered and missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Larry, and Harry Russell. She is survived by her husband Dan, three children, Tim Bitter, April Avila, and Danny Bitter: six Grandchildren and six Great Grandchildren.
The Grandchildren will remember always having a cookie jar full of Oreo cookies!
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 16, 2024, at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK.
Our condolences to Mr Bitter, Danny, Austin, and all the Bitter family. Our Hearts and Prayers be with you.

My condolences on Kathy’s passing. I always enjoyed time with you both at the RMS conventions over the years. We’ve missed you two these last few years. Take care and be safe.
I will keep the family in my prayers.
Stanaleen Reeves (SISTER)
Just recently had I gotten to meet Kathy a couple of times before her passing. I was purely a stranger to her, just in the way of her daily routine no doubt. Haha but to me she had the highest spirits of any stranger I’d meet those days and had a contagious laugh that could light up a room. I know anybody that shared in the same privilege as I had, would absolutely attest to that. You’re talked about every day, and I can tell by the words said, that you’re missed dearly.
Dan, you’ve been in our thoughts everyday since we heard the news and will continue to be.
Your Neighbor’s over yonder.
