Suzanne Michelle Barnes
1965-2019
Suzanne Michelle Barnes, age 54, tragically passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019. She was the youngest of three, born on March 7, 1965, in Fall River, MA, to Gene and Madeleine Walker. In 1974, she and her parents moved from Henrietta, New York, to Edmond, Oklahoma, where she attended Edmond Memorial High School and was a member of the pom squad. In 1986, she married Tim Casper and this union was blessed by two daughters, Madison Elizabeth and Taylor Kathleen. On November 16, 2013, she married the love of her life, Douglas Lee Barnes, and gained four step-children. She had a successful career as a banker, including personal/private banker, loan compliance, lender, and loan operations manager, at Bank of Oklahoma, First Commercial Bank, Valliance Bank, and The First State Bank. Outside of work, she dedicated her time to the Lions Club and made many contributions to the Lions Eye Health Program. Suzy was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Edmond and enjoyed spending her weekends at the lake with her husband and beloved family dog, Daisy. She is survived by: her daughters Madison and Taylor Casper; step-sons Chad Barnes, Nathanael Cook, and Randall Barnes; step-daughter Amanda Fredericksen; sisters Sandy (Jim) Guelich and Jean Cloutier; step-granddaughters Brittany, Courtney, Taja, and Ridley; step-grandsons Payton and Ontario; niece Melissa Bedell; and nephews Bryan (Whitney) and Kyle (Amanda) McIntyre. Services will be held January 11, 2020, at 9:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, 1001 S. Rankin St, Edmond, OK, 73034.
