Steven (Steve) Douglas Walker

Steven (Steve) Douglas Walker passed away peacefully with his children by his side on the afternoon of September 22, 2022, at the age of 71.

Steve was from a large family.  He was the oldest of six children born to Douglas C. Walker and Ann Dressel Walker on March 31, 1951, in Utica, New York.  Steve was raised in upstate New York and attended a parochial school until Junior High School.  He graduated from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School in 1969 where he met his first wife and mother of his three children, Elizabeth Joyce Angelo.  They were married in 1972 and Steve graduated from Siena College in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree.  His career started with Sunkist Growers as a Produce Broker.  In 1980, he relocated the family to Edmond, Oklahoma from Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey.  In 1984, he started working for Tom Lange Company until his retirement in 2015.  Steve was married to his current wife at the time of his death to Ulrike (Uli) B. Mair on September 19, 1993.  Steve and Uli spent their time with their joint love of the outdoors while traveling with their RV.  They spent several winters in their favorite place, Brownsville, Texas near South Padre Island.  Steve was an avid golfer all his life and loved a good poker game, grilling on the patio and reading Louis L’Amour books.  His favorite time with the family and grandkids was either boating on the lake or cooking a big Sunday meal at his house.

Steve is survived by many family members.  His wife of 29 years, Ulrike B. Walker of Edmond, Oklahoma.  His mother, Ann Walker of Scotia, New York.  His brother, Gary and wife Carol Walker of Eagle, Colorado, sister Kim and husband Peter Struve of Gypsum, Colorado, brother Terence Walker and fiance Kelly Delgado of Miami, Florida, and sister Elizabeth and husband Kyle Thornhill of Bandon, Oregon.  His three daughters, Danielle Ann and spouse, Dave Brown, of Edmond, Oklahoma.  Sarah Elizabeth and spouse, Jonathan Looper, of Edmond, Oklahoma.  And Carrie Anne and spouse John McCall of Sachse, Texas.  His five grandchildren, Devan Barger, Bradley Barger, Kristian Barger, Mason Boutwell and Abigail Looper.  And many nieces and nephews.

His death is preceded by his father, Douglas Walker and his brother Scott Walker. May they find their spiritual reunion blessed and ordained by God for all eternity.
