Stanley DeWitt Sadler

1952-2025

Stanley DeWitt Sadler, affectionately known as “Stan the Man,” was born on May 4, 1952, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Dee and Beth Ann Sadler. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma, where he spent his early childhood years alongside his three younger siblings, Greg, Mike, and Shannon. Ardmore always held a special place in Stan’s heart, and he loved sharing stories of his time there. In 1961, the Sadler family relocated to Oklahoma City, where Stanley attended Harding Junior High and later graduated from John Marshall High School in 1970.

Stanley went on to pursue higher education at the University of Oklahoma, where he became an active member of the Fiji fraternity, forming lifelong friendships and cultivating his passion for Sooner football. After graduation, he worked in the oil industry for many years before transitioning to insurance, where he and his wife, Tracy, ran a successful business. Most of his adult life was spent in Edmond, Oklahoma, where he raised his beloved family.

Stan was a man of immense warmth, humor, charm, and character. He was passionate about his hobbies, from playing baseball throughout his youth to coaching Little League baseball for his sons, Josh and Matt. He also enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, playing golf, barbecuing, and his most recent love, hosting crawfish boils. He was a great storyteller and entertainer, there was never a dull moment in his presence.

Yet, more than anything, Stan cherished the time spent with his family and close friends. He never missed an opportunity to bring everyone together. His playful spirit, infectious sense of humor, and boundless love endeared him to all who knew him.

Stan is survived by his loving wife, Tracy Sadler; his children, Kristianne Sadler, Joshua Sadler, Matthew Sadler and his wife Laci, Charlee Sadler, Cayden Sadler, Sylonne Sadler, and Stella Sadler; his eight grandchildren, Autymn McCrary, Athen McCrary, Shayne Sadler, Addison Sadler, Lincoln Sadler, Preston Sadler, Griffin Sadler, and Cora Sadler; his two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Aslan; and his siblings, Greg Sadler and his wife Sandra, Michael Sadler, and Shannon Crites and her husband Keith. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Beth Ann Sadler.

Stan’s larger-than-life personality will be forever loved and deeply missed. A devoted father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. There will never be another “Stan the Man.” And as he always loved to say, “Boomer Sooner!”

Services will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church of Edmond on Friday, April 11th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.

My Dad’s Father was Robert G. Hall, “Bob” and he was a brother to Stan’s Mom’s Mother, Dolly Hall Pounds who owed the Ethan Allen store in Ardmore. Their store advertisement was Dolly and Bill on Maple and Mill! What an amazing couple! My brother Charley “also a Fiji” Hall and I attended the memorial for BethAnn and Dee Sadler and I believe that was the last time I saw Stan. He had some great parents and I absolutely thought BethAnn was as sweet and angel as her mother and they definitely passed that on to Shannon. Charley has since passed from Glioblastoma. Even though we’re more like “2nd cousins”, we never called each other anything but, “Cousin”. I like to think that he and Stan are probably doing practical jokes upstairs and having great fun! I’m so grateful for my relationship with Stan’s brother, Greg Sadler. The way that Stan was described in the obituary could also describe Greg. I have it on good authority that all the Sadler siblings were 4 of a kind! I like to think that when Stan closed his eyes on earth, he opened them in heaven to the welcoming arms of Dolly and Bill(on Maple & Mill). My prayers and prayer warriors are lifting you up during this difficult time, Tracy and even though it’s been 13 years since my husband passed, I can tell you that if you just let the Lord take over, he will carry you through this difficult journey you are embarking on and will be there for every tear or happy memory smile you have.
Just remember that neither of our husbands would want us to spends our days in sadness. When that happens, just immediately think of 10 happy memories and it should pull you over to happiness. Believe me, I believe and know it to be true every day. God bless you, Tracy. ♥️Heather Hall Strahan

Tracy, our deepest condolences to you and the Sadler Family. Stan was an incredible person and brought that positive vibe making life fun. We will forever cherish those fun times on the patio talking life issues, and some how Stan would spin it into something that is really not so bad or even laughable. I hope he is getting all the crab broil, BBQ, and Chinese food he wants in heaven.

Stan was just so fun, generous and loving. He was a family man to the max. He is at the throne of God praying for us, especially for Tracy and the all his children.
