Sheldon D. Shepherd

1968 – 2021

Sheldon Daniel Shepherd (52) of Edmond Oklahoma passed away August 8th , 2021 at approximately 10:45 a.m. due to a major cardiac event. Sheldon was born October 31st, 1968, in Rapid City South Dakota to Leonard Raymond Shepherd (Ray) and Patricia Ann Shepherd (Patti).
He attended Rapid City schools and graduated in 1987. He was working at a Pamida store in Alliance, Nebraska when he met Tina Detwiler. They married October 11th of 1994 and moved to Pierre, South Dakota. A few years later they had their first child Chantell Marie Shepherd Walker on January 19th, 1997, and their second child, Elizabeth Maxine Shepherd on  October 2nd, 1999. They then moved to Oklahoma and in their almost 22 years in Oklahoma they moved four times and they lived in the last place for 19 years. In October of 2011 Sheldon lost his mom Patti, then his father Ray in April of 2015. In November of 2016 he found out his daughter Elizabeth had epilepsy. In December of 2017 he had a full right hip replacement and had a hard time with recovery. In April of 2018 his first grandson Zeke Walker was born and on August 9th of 2018,  Zeke’s mom, Chantell Marie Shepherd and Richard Walker got married. It was a happy time for Sheldon. Sheldon is survived by his wife Tina Marie Shepherd and his daughters Chantell Walker and husband Richard Walker and grandsons Bentlee Baker, Carter Walker and Zeke Walker and Elizabeth Shepherd and boyfriend Tanner Jenkins and his godparents RanDee and Susan Newland many other aunts and uncles and cousins.  Also, stepmom Susan Shepherd and brother Michael Shepherd and family.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 12th.  Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 13th at Matthews Funeral Home.
