Sharon Boecking

Sharon Paige Boecking

1952 – 2023

Sharon “Share Bear” Fitkin Boecking was ushered into the arms of Jesus on Nov 25, 2023 at the age of 71 years young. Born to Sally and Ed Fitkin on April 29, 1952, Sharon was a bright light in this world. She grew up in New Jersey loving horses, ice skating, and especially the ocean. In 1965, she moved to Oklahoma City where she met the love of her life, Henry Boecking in eighth grade. Henry and Sharon married in 1973 and had 50 beautiful years of marriage together.

Henry and Sharon went on to have 3 boys: Cort, Michael, and Blake. After briefly moving to Chanute, Kansas and Tulsa, the family settled back down in Edmond where they have resided ever since. In 1998, Sharon and Henry started attending church at the prompting of their sons. After giving their lives to Christ, they joined First Presbyterian Church and served in many different capacities over the years from children’s ministry, BSF, Alpha, to Pilgrimage and even taking the gospel across the world to Uganda six different times. Sharon was also a faithful volunteer with Junior League, Infant Crisis Services, and Coffee Creek Therapeutic Riding Center.

Through the ups and downs of life, Sharon held tight to her unwavering faith. She poured out her life, her joy, her smiles, big hugs, and her infectious giggle everywhere she went.   She made countless meals for widows, shut-ins, and those that she just wanted to bless. The world and her circumstances never dimmed her light. She found joy and beauty everywhere- her heart so full of love that it often spilled out from her eyes.

She loved and served her family like no one else. She could often be found playing, singing, and laughing with her 7 grandchildren. She was their biggest fan at every dance recital and sporting event. Her sisters Wendi Foltz and Penny Harper were a constant source of love and friendship and she loved her nieces and nephews like her own. Her church family meant so much to her as well as the beautiful friendships she made there.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband and best friend Henry; Cort and Lori Boecking and Lexy Cureton;  Michael, Cindy, Hayden, Ford, and Cooper Boecking; Blake, Nikki, Greyson, Lucy, and Andie Boecking; Wendi, Dan, Harbour and Marshall Foltz and Alex Inskeep; Penny and David Harper, Baird Harper and Mia Miles-Dunn, Rachel Harper and Jack McVey, Sally and Thomas Griffin, Marnie and Hunter Lau, and Matt Harper; Caroline and Fred Gist, Addi and Ken Forgit; Curt and Susan Boecking, Emily Boecking, Lori and Clark Torbert, Katherine Boecking and Miles Sawaya; Steve and Tami Boecking, Claire and Derek Chamberlain; Weldon Beauchamp representing the Fitkin family and Sharon’s 10 grandnieces and nephews.

She was greeted in heaven by her mom and dad Sally and Ed Boecking, her father Ed Fitkin, nephew Reed Boecking and no doubt her two dogs, Shelby and Walker are with her as well.

She was an angel on earth who finally gained her wings.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Positive Tomorrows School by clicking here.

Services will be at 2;00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, 1001 S. Rankin St., Edmond, OK, 73034.
