S.C. Stevenson Jr, 87, of Edmond, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. S.C. was born in Louisville, Mississippi on October 23, 1930. Upon his high school graduation in 1948 he joined the United States Air Force. He married his beloved wife Shirley Faye Madden on August 31st, 1952 in Meridian, Mississippi. They were wed for 65 years.

S.C. was also a veteran who served with distinction in the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Air Force until 1958, when he accepted the Lord’s call to the ministry. He graduated from Bethany Nazarene College in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. In 1985 S.C. earned his Doctorate of Divinty.

He served as a pastor for the Church of the Nazarene from 1960 until 2000 in numerous ministry locations throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas, touching and changing countless lives. S.C.’s passion was his ministry. Beyond preaching the gospel, was the extraordinary personal attention and time that he gave to the needy and the sick among his church flock.

S.C. is survived by his devoted wife Shirley; son, Steve (Ellen) Stevenson of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter, Braxie Lynn (Brad) Goodman of Edmond, Oklahoma; son, Jeff Stevenson of Plano, Texas and son, Timothy Stevenson of Yukon, Oklahoma. He also leaves grandchildren, Jennifer, Christi, Ashley, Jordan, Kaylynn, Kennedy, Keslynn, Karter and great grandchildren Ian, Carson, Michael, Anna, and Nathaniel.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Waterloo Church of the Nazarene with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery Edmond, OK.
