Rose Mary McAllister was born on June 13th, 1934, in Enid Oklahoma, and died on February 8, 2017, in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was the third of five children born to John James and Elizabeth (Jacoby) Holland. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Wichita, Kansas in 1952 and attended the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. Rose Mary met the love of her life, Carl Edward (Mac) McAllister in 1954 while he was stationed in Wichita with the United States Air Force and they were married for over 51 years. She was a loving wife, mother and friend who lived life to the fullest. She was a talented artist and enjoyed crafting and sewing. She was very active in her faith and devoted to Our Lady through daily prayer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Holland, husband, Carl McAllister, brother, Jack Holland and his wife Jean, twin brother Richard Holland, and brother, Albert Holland and his wife Nancy. She is survived by her sister, Lucy Margaret Clark, son, Michael (Ed) McAllister, daughter, Donna McNutt and her husband Paul, son, Mark McAllister, grandson, Stephen McAllister and his wife Michelle, grandson, Kevin McNutt, granddaughter, Laura McNutt, great McAllister Rose Mary obit picgranddaughter Quincy McAllister, and several nieces and nephews.

A Wake service in memory of Rose Mary will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 6:00 pm at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 14th at 10:30 am at the Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist in Edmond. Graveside services will be held at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Oklahoma Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or the Oklahoma Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
