Roland Fair

Roland “Buddy” Eugene Fair, Jr.

October 15th, 1939 – February 25th, 2021

The Lord asked Roland to come walk with Him in the early morning of February 25th, 2021.

He was born in Atlanta Georgia to Viola and Roland Fair in 1939. Roland was the oldest son of 5 children, brothers Bill and Mike and sisters Vicki and Shirley. Roland was known by all, for his jovial personality and his love for our Holy Father. Roland joined the Air Force in 1957 at the age of 17. Serving in Newport News, Virginia. Shortly after, his family grew, bringing sons Barry and Terry and daughter Pam. After finishing his service to his country, he traveled all over the southern United States, living on an apple orchard in Arkansas. Even living in Honolulu HI for 9 years working for United Airlines. Where he saw his favorite artist Elvis Presley perform on Waikiki Beach. He eventually made his way to Oklahoma City, OK. This is where he met the love of his life Janese Menn (Perry). Roland and Janese were married for almost 42 years. They loved to travel and never missed a family reunion no matter how far away. In summer 1999, they spent several weeks exploring Moncton, Canada. Venturing over to Prince Edward Island. But, mostly Roland loved visiting family in his home state of Georgia. He was also an active member of Northwest Baptist Church for many years. He always had a smile and some story to share. He did not know a stranger ever in his life. His brightest joy was being surrounded by his grandchildren. He would parade them around with pure admiration. Roland had the natural gift of cooking and baking, his family enjoyed many holidays with large gatherings in the same house his wife Janese grew up in.  He was a provider, a caregiver and a pillar of strength for his family and never used a harsh tone. He was supportive, kind, gentle and just warm to be around. Roland was a genuinely kind soul. Roland is preceded in death by his mother Viola Golden and his father Roland Sr., sister Vicki   and son Terry Fair. He is survived by his loving wife Janese, sister Shirley and brothers Mike and Bill, wife Marilyn of Orlando FL. children Barry Fair, Pam Lasseson of Blairsville GA, step-daughters Olivia Hardin (husband David) of New Braunfels TX, Emily Talmadge (husband Craig) of Oklahoma City, OK  His grandchildren Jessica Anderson of Orlando FL, Jennifer Skeen (Finance’ Brandon Archer) of Locust Grove GA , Chase Scott and Holly Hardin of Oklahoma City, OK. Sarah Fair Paisley (husband Russell Paisley) and Tabitha Fair of Nashville, TN. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. And many great grandchildren. Roland you will greatly be missed, by all of us.

Roland was as kind a human being as you would want to know. He was a neighborly-neighbor who always had a smile and a funny story to tell. He was sweet and patient with children, his own, and others’. He was always loving and kind. Roland and Janese were perfect for each other!

Let his love surround you Janese, Olivia, Emily, and Chase.

    Godspeed Roland
