Roe Dale Kennedy

1934-2024

Roe Dale Kennedy, aged 89, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Roe was born in Atoka, Oklahoma on October 2, 1934, to Dellard and Zonia Kennedy.

On May 20, 1955, Roe married his sweetheart, Betty Marie Sheffield. They shared 67 years of love and devotion until the death of his beloved wife on December 16, 2022.

Roe and Betty enjoyed traveling, seeing 46 U.S. states and 15 countries. Roe and Betty also loved Winnebago trips with his siblings Dean, Joe, and Barney and spouses.

Roe can best be remembered by his devoutness to God and faith, total and unfailing love of his wife Betty and Softball. Softball gave Roe an outlet of friendship, camaraderie, and fitness. Roe may not have been inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame, but he will forever be in our Hearts of Fame!

Roe is preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents and three of his seven siblings. He is survived by daughter Reba Hudson (Kurte); daughter Donna Kennedy; son Michael Kennedy (Kevin); along with his wonderful grandchildren; Audrey Lee (Dustin); Grant Hudson (Rachel); and Sarah Cooley. As well as his exceptional great grandchildren; Laynie, Jackson, Luke, Finley, and Hayes.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, January 16th at Matthews Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., January 17, 2024 at Spring Creek Assembly of God in Edmond, OK with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK.

    Donna and Mike, I just saw this. I’m so very sorry for the lost of your parents. Such a wonderful couple. We did have some wonderful times, didn’t we.
