Robert William Pansze
March 23, 1942 – November 4, 2013
On Monday November 4th, 2013, God unexpectedly called into his loving arms his faithful follower William Robert Pansze, known to those close to him as Bob Pansze. Bob has left behind his loving Wife of 15 years, Barbara, 3 children: Reed and Ryan Pansze and Lisa Crafton, 2 brothers Bernt and John Pansze, 2 step-daughters Jennifer Cook and Melissa Brewer, and 4 granddaughters all of the Metro area, as well as numerous cousins, many respectful friends and colleagues, and his beloved and devoted dogs.
Bob was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Bill Pansze and Edith Owsley who passed away when Bob was 3 years old from complications of childbirth. His Father later remarried to Bernice Rogstad who continued to raise Bob as her own son as well as his two half brothers. Bob graduated in 1960 from NW Classen High School in Oklahoma City where during his senior year he and his teammates won the State Championship in football. Then he attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman where he competed in their wrestling program and where he received a Bachelors and Masters Degree.
He was an avid OU fan and all of his life was quite proud of his OU and family legacy. Both his Father Bill Pansze, and his Uncle Art Pansze were both captains of the OU football team in the 1930s. Up until his passing, Bob was always in the field of Education in continuous capacities including teaching, principal and upper administration.
At the time of his death, he was teaching Special Education students at Roosevelt Middle School in the OKC Public School System. His ability to connect with special needs students was truly a natural gift and was a blessing for all of the students fortunate to have known him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of Oklahoma Foundation or the Animal Humane Society of OKC or Edmond.
Services will be 2pm Friday, November 8, 2013 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel.
You are in our prayers and thoughts. So sorry about Bob. We loved him too.
We love you,
Barbara and Vanessa and family
Barbara,]
My prayers and thoughts are with you. I thought so much of Bob. Bob’s concern for others was unmatched. Heaven has gained a shining light.

Our friend that will be missed by all that knew him. Bob always had time for anyone that came into his office and if you had a problem, he would help you deal with it. He has made a big impact in education especially in special education. He was born to be a teacher and had a great insight for the needs of special students. Barbara we are thinking about you and your family and will be there for any help you need. We know this has left a big hole in your heart. Bob loved you and will always remain with you in many ways.
You know he is up in heaven helping those that need the extra attention. Our love to you, Keith and Nema
About My Friend Mr. Pansze
Among life’s precious jewels,
Genuine and rare,
The one that we call friendship
Has worth beyond compare.
Mr. Pansze a truly magnificent person, educator, mentor and my friend
As a teacher, I learned so much from Mr. Pansze
My first year at Roosevelt, he gave me lasting advice, and he listened to my stories, we laughed talked and laughed more, until our sides hurt on many days. Always talked OU football –Boomer!
Two weeks ago he visited my school…I was so happy to see him, and we made plans for him to meet my mom, a retired educator, from SE OK , my boys and brother. I respected him so much. We had a long visit.. I was so excited that he could look at my school, meet my friends and students
He loved kids so much and they immediately gravitated to him…people gravitated to him…
I know he’s in heaven talking with my dad, Mr. Patton, a fellow educator, about his daughter….Fergi
May God bless and keep us
Many many prayers and hugs for the family and the many friends, students who loved him too!

I worked with Bob at Roosevelt, and appreciated his soft, kind voice and his wonderful sense of humor. I helped him with some of his paperwork, and respected his attention to detail. Although I left Roosevelt some time ago, I will miss knowing he is there. I spoke with him several weeks back, and it was so good to hear his voice. He so often spoke fondly of his family, which naturally included his beloved pets. May God hold you in the palm of His hand as you say farewell.

I worked with Bob for several years at the Choctaw/Nicoma Park Schools Administration Office. He was so much fun to work with and I thought so much of him. He was the optimum educator.
I am an OSU fan and one year I remember Bob giving me an OSU wall plaque. Because he was an avid OU fan, that gesture really impressed me. I still have the plaque and now it will mean even more to me.
I have so many good memories of Bob and I hope and pray that memories will help Barbara and the children go through this time.
Bob Pansze was a wonderful human being and I thank God that I was allowed to cross paths with him.

I worked with Bob at Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools. He was a pleasure to work with. Being an avid OU fan, we shared many stories of OU football…Boomer Sooner! He had a great sense of humor. When I worked for Okla City Schools, he was a frequent visitor to the Admn Office. Always a joy to see him and get caught up with what was going on in our job and family. So sorry for your loss.
