Robert “Bob” Earle McDaniel

1935 – 2024

Robert Earle (Bob) McDaniel was born on November 5, 1935, in Edmond, Oklahoma to Charles and Rubye McDaniel. He passed away on June 14, 2024, at his home in Edmond. At a very young age he stayed with his Grandma and Grandpa McDaniel while his father was working, and his mother was teaching school. This was where he got his love for horses because his grandpa would take him to look at the horses. He attended grade school at Rose Valley, graduating from Deer Creek in 1953. He married Rose Marie Dick on June 28, 1958. To this marriage two children were born, a daughter and a son.

He had a great love for horses and always had at least one from a very young age until later in life. His real love was for his family and especially for his three grandsons that he called “his boys.”  He taught them all to love his favorite game of baseball. Bob retired from Acme Brick after many years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose Marie, one daughter Lori Grafford (Geoff), one son Lonnie McDaniel (Sandra), three grandsons, Clay (Meghan), Zane, and Wade McDaniel, granddaughter, Emma Grafford, and one great granddaughter, River Rose McDaniel, his brother, Bill McDaniel (Kyle) and his sister Linda Johnson.  He is also survived by other family members, cousins, many friends, his wonderful church family, and the community in the Colony at Williamsburg.

Visitation and viewing will be held on Sunday, June 23, from 12:00-6:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Waterloo Church of the Nazarene, 457 Waterloo Road, Edmond, OK with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Waterloo Church of the Nazarene.

What a great man!! Kind, gentle, full of faith . . . . He will for sure be missed! Few people more respected than “Pa”. Love to the McDaniel family.
