Robert “Bob” Lewis King of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away on August 14, 2024. He was born August 3, 1938, in Wichita Kansas to Alfred Lewis King and Birdie Lenora King Jackson.

Bob was married to the love of his life, Alice Arlene King on November 18th, 1956. They would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this year. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bill King, Dean Pitchford, Wesley Pitchford and Jimmy King as well as his sisters Shirley Bideler and Dorothy Cole. Bob was raised in Wichita, Kansas and moved to Oklahoma in 1959. They bought a house in Edmond Oklahoma and lived there for over 61 years and raised all five children in that home. He owned and operated a window and pool company for several years and retired in 2004. Bob loved all types of sports, and he was a die-hard Sooner fan. He loved to play sports, watch his kids and grandkids play and he loved to coach. He loved to travel with his RV group the 89er Club and enjoyed endless hours playing games with them. He loved Oklahoma weather and was glued to the television all storm season. His favorite place was anywhere in Colorado in the mountains. He loved fly fishing, and his favorite place was in the mountains sitting by the river or standing in the stream fishing. He loved southern gospel music and spending time with friends and family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Arlene, their 5 children and their spouses. Bobby and Fran King of Bristow, Oklahoma, Ricky King of Oklahoma City, Curtis & Melissa King of Valley View, Texas, Randy and Lisa Grace of Moore, Oklahoma and Kyle and Rhonda Sifford of Edmond, Oklahoma. Bob loved his family and friends more than anything in the world. He was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and his main wish was that all of his family would come to know the Lord.

Im sorry for the loss of the patriarch of your family. He was a great husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa. I pray for all of the Kings that God will wrap His arms around you and comfort you each and everyone of you all in the moments, days, months and years ahead. Keep in mind of all the great memories that all of you shared. I will never forget the summers I got to spend with you all when I was younger. Bob and Arlene were the perfect couple/parents in everyway and raised some amazing sons and daughters. I love you all! Praying!

    1. Thank you so much. You guys were definitely the highlight of our trip! When mom climbed on top of that stack of chairs “to get a better view” and you persuaded her to finally get down (and helped her climb down), my dad was just laughing and shaking his head. We loved the time we spent with you. Thank you for making that trip so special and a memory we will always cherish. Love you guys!
