Robert Lee Felix

1964-2015

Felix, RobertRobert Felix was born in Berkeley, California on July 6, 1964 to Richard Alvis Felix and Patricia Nunley Felix. He was the second of 3 children and was just 10 months younger than his older brother Richard. 9 years later his sister Felicia was born. After the age of 4, Robert and his family moved to Oklahoma City where he attended Putnam City High School and ultimately graduated from Putnam City North in 1982. He attended college at Oklahoma State University and Central State in Edmond, majoring in International Finance. He worked in the finance industry until he decided to put his artistic skills and creative vision to work by starting his own landscaping business in the Edmond area in 1997. In 1988 a new chapter unfolded for Robert when his soon to be Father- in- Law introduced him to Carla Ann Carman. Carla & Robert dated for over 7 years and married on April 13th, 1996. In June of 1997 they welcomed their first daughter, Haley Frances Felix. In April of 2000, Anna Gail Felix was born. Robert and Carla opened a business together in 2010 as Independent Business Owners with Rodan + Fields Dermatologists. Their new business allowed him to step back and be more of a dad and focus on his girls. Carla retired from corporate America two years later and for the last 2 ½ years both Robert and Carla have been home working and parenting together. Robert passed away suddenly at home on Friday, January 30th, 2015. He was only 50 years old. Robert will be remembered by his many friends, family and business partners across the United States as a gentle soul who loved the Lord, his family and friends very deeply. If you were fortunate enough to be in his circle you always knew you were loved and exactly where you stood. Robert had a love of life and a heart of gold and was a total prankster. You could always count on Robert or Berto, as his high school friends called him, to provide the one liners, fill you in on his latest golf round and tell you all about his motor cross days. Robert took great pride in being a dad and could be found on the soccer field or the tennis court cheering his girls on almost every weekend. Robert’s greatest legacy will be the time he gave, and the attention to the detail of his girls’ daily activities. His contribution to their lives will be forever etched in their hearts. Robert leaves behind his wife of 19 years, Carla, and his two daughters Haley, 17, a Senior at Edmond North and his daughter Anna, 14, a freshman at North. His mom Patricia Edwards and husband Jim Edwards of Tulsa, his father Dick Felix and his wife Joann of Oklahoma City; his brother Richard and his sister Felicia and her fiancé Damon Cochran and many aunts & uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him very much.

The Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, February 4th at 11:00am at First Christian Church of Edmond, located at 201 E. Second St. Edmond, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Robert Felix Memorial Fund, care of Sooner State Bank, 10301 N May Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.

Haley, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. The way that I know your dad was a good man, is because of the great young woman you are. Greatness doesn’t happen accidentally. Know that you are loved by many across this state and that you are in our prayers. Yours in Christian ministry, John Wheeler
