Robert L. (Bob) Dawson, 67, of Edmond, OK, passed away in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 after a brief illness. His presence will be dearly missed by so many! Bob was born in Hobart, OK on November 14, 1947. He is a true blue Okie! His parents, Charles O. Dawson and Bonnie L. (Downen) Dawson and step-father, E. Warner Garnett, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda D. Dawson, two children and three step-children: Jenny Dawson and Jeremy Dawson of Kansas City, KS; Daryl Doss and wife Tammy of Lexington, KY, Derek Doss and wife, Lisa of El Reno, OK and Danae (Doss) King and husband, Steve King of Edmond, OK. Bob has twelve amazing grandchildren: Dustin Doss, Josie Doss, Payton Doss, Ashlyn King, Bria King, Ethan King, Kailey King, Zoe King, Damon Dawson, Kylie Ambrose, Alex Ambrose and Ashton Ambrose.
Bob is also leaving behind two brothers, Ronald Dawson and James Garnett and wife, Mika Garnett of Oklahoma City, OK and one sister, Patricia (Dawson) English and husband, Gaeton English of Wayne, ME. He is further survived by loving nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and many, many friends who loved him dearly. He would want to make special mention of his friends of over 40 years, Mike and Jill Potter, of Willis, TX and their son, Mason Potter, who he loved like a son.
Bob is a graduate of Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. Go Pokes! He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971, earning a rank of Lance Corporal during the Vietnam War. He is a true patriot and wears that badge proudly!! Semper Fi!
Bob worked in the oil and gas Industry in Oklahoma for the last 25 years in oil and gas lease marketing, the last 21 years for The Oil & Gas Asset Clearinghouse. He loved his job and said he was the best salesman in the Industry!
The family will greet friends on Friday, October 2, 2015, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (come and go) at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly Ave., Edmond, OK 73003, a Remembrance Service will be Saturday, October 3, 2015 – 10:00 am – Matthews Funeral Home. A private Interment (family) will precede the Remembrance Service at Gracelawn Cemetery – Edmond

I am sorry to hear the passing of my good friend of many years in the oil and gas business. He made a lot of people happy during the most difficult times. Rest in Peace Bob. God needs your to market his property.
I today just heard the passing of Bob. Bob and i last spoke negotiating a deal we purchased after the gavel last year. I had known bob via the Oil and Gas Clearinghouse for several decades.
Bob was a true gentlemen, told it like it was, and a pleasure ALWAYS to do business with.
Bob will certainly be missed in the industry. I really hate to hear of Bob’s passing.
