On September 10th, 2018, Robert Earl Wilson went to be with his Lord. Robert was born in Edmond, Oklahoma to his parents James and Dolly Wilson. He was a graduate of Edmond High School. He received a two-year degree in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma City University. Robert served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He had worked as farmer at the same time he worked for Harper Oil. He worked 35 years for U.S. Postal system, not missing one day of work during that time. In 1959 Robert married the love of his life for 48 years, Patricia Lucille McGee Wilson. They had two children, Jill Wilson Koenig and Thomas Wilson. Roberts’s most precious treasures were his two grandchildren, Jonathon and Addison Wilson.
Robert was a Mason at Lodge #37 in Edmond Oklahoma for 64 years, where he helped build the Masonic Lodge at 1026 N. Boulevard. Robert served the following offices as a Mason for Edmond Masonic Lodge: Junior and Senior Deacon, Senior Warden, Worshipful Master in January 1960, and Secretary. On May of 1966 Robert obtain a Master of the Royal Secret of the 32 Degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of the Masonic order. Robert was also the Installing Officer for the Edmond Lodge for 50 years, where he taught and helped many Masons through their degree work. The Edmond Masonic Lodge honored Robert with The Mister Mason Award in 2000, which is given to the most outstanding Mason for that year. The same year the outstanding Past Master Award was named after Robert in honor of his years of service to Masonry. Robert was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Edmond for 65 years, serving in many leadership roles during that time.
Robert is survived by his daughter Jill Wilson Koenig and husband Chris Koenig; son Thomas Wilson and his wife Mary Wilson; two grandchildren Jonathon Wilson and Addison Wilson; brothers Floyd Wilson, Bill Wilson and wife Alice; sisters Ruth Wilson Leonard, Shirley Wilson Buckley and Husband Harvey Joe Buckley, Mary Beth Wilson Pettit and Husband Monte Pettit, Anne Wilson Shelton and Husband George Shelton; brother-in-law Wade Mountz; sister-in-law Deloris Wilson; along with numerous nephews and nieces. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Patricia McGee Wilson; parents James and Dolly Wilson; sister Betty Wilson Mountz; brothers James Wilson and wife Joe Dean, Leroy Wilson, John Wilson; brother-in-law Bobby Leonard; and sister-in-law Jennie Wilson. Robert was a beloved husband, parent, grandparent and uncle. Robert believed in serving others and was loved by many.
Robert was the faithful servant for Jesus. On September 10th, 2018, Jesus told him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of your master.”
Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 13th, at Matthews Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, September 14th, at the First United Methodist Church of Edmond, with burial to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery.

  1. God bless you! Bob was a very special man who inspired the best in everyone around him. He and Pat helped make First UMC the church that it is! I certainly appreciated Bob and Pats support while I pastored there. All of us have been blessed by both Bob and Pat!
