1952 – 2023
Richard Allen Campodonica of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away om October 3, 2023. He was born on June 14, 1952, in Merced, California. Richard was lovingly known as a devoted family man
Richard had a deep passion for cars, particularly VW Bugs. He took great pride in his work, especially when it came to fixing and restoring these iconic vehicles. His expertise and attention to detail were unparalleled, earning him the respect and admiration of his peers.
In his leisure time, Richard enjoyed watching NASCAR races and collecting M&M Memorabilia. He had a keen eye for detail which was evident in his hobby of building model cars. Richard’s craftmanship and precision were truly remarkable. Richard cherished his friendship with everyone, especially his “table” of friends at Acclaim (Lion Wood) Independent living.
Above all, Richard cherished his role as a loving father and grandfather. He was always there to lend a helping hand, especially when it came to putting up Christmas lights with his son and grandchildren. His warm heart and generous spirit brought joy to those around him.
Richard is survived by his brother, Timothy Campodonica, and his spouse Dianea Campodonica of Salem, Oregon. Richard is survived by his sister, Sharon Marchini and spouse of California. He is also survived by his son Robert Campodonica and his spouse Courtney Campodonica of San Diego, California, as well as his son Richard Campodonica and spouse Leslie Campodonica of Edmond, Oklahoma. Richard is survived by his son Phillip Brown of California. Richard was a proud grandfather to two grandsons, Noah Campodonica and Jesse Baker, both of Edmond, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard attended Merced High School in Merced, California. Following his education, he proudly served in the United States Army from April 30, 1970, to June 1, 1973, as a mechanic. Richards military service instilled in him a strong work ethic and a sense of duty that he carried with him throughout his life.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Clear Springs Church, 921 N Clear Springs Rd, Mustang, OK 73064.
I had the opportunity to meet Richard at Acclaim living. The last thing he said to me was that the men’s room needed toilet paper. May he rest in peace.
