Richard C Davis, 92, passed away on April 2, 2016 in Oklahoma City. Born on April 27, 1923 in Town of Hempstead, NY, Dick was the youngest of five children. He married Barbara Rubien in 1949 and they lived in New Jersey until moving to Oklahoma in 2008.

Dick was a veteran of WW II. Assigned to a B-29 Superfortress unit based in India that flew missions over the Himalayas to Japan, he served as fire control officer operating the remote firing system for the machine guns, returning to the states after completing 35 missions.

He graduated in 1949 from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania with a mechanical engineering degree, and spent his entire career in management at Worthington Pump, an industrial manufacturer in Harrison, NJ. He retired in 1986 to full-time living in their summer beach house at the NJ shore where he especially enjoyed fishing, reading, woodworking and home projects.

Dick is survived by his wife Barbara of the home; daughter Audrey Blank and husband Kenneth, of Edmond, OK; son Paul Davis and spouse Bob Lowney, of San Francisco, CA; granddaughter Suzanne Watt, and husband Jonathan, of Jenks, OK; granddaughter Allison Lawrence, and husband Blake, of Oklahoma City, OK; and great- grandchildren Hannah Watt, Bennett Lawrence and Charlotte Lawrence.

Services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday April 6th 2016 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Gracelawn Cemetery.
