Reneau Lynn Parrott
1954-2025
Reneau Lynn Parrott passed away on January 22nd, 2025. Reneau was born on March 26, 1954, in Blackwell Oklahoma, to Emma Lou “Moyer” Chambers and Richard Kenneth Chambers. A longtime resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Reneau graduated from Blackwell High School in 1972 and then married the love of her life David Gene Parrott on February 1st, 1974. Later that year the happy couple welcomed their only son, Ryan Matthew Parrott. Reneau attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with her doctorate degree as a pharmacist in 1990.
After a 30-year career in the pharmaceutical field she decided to retire in 2020 so that she could enjoy the next season of her life traveling the world with her husband, and spending time with her grandchildren. Reneau and David traveled to New York, Italy, Europe, New Orleans, and Colorado so needless to say she was enjoying retirement. She loved Norah Jones and David made sure that they attended several of her concerts including one at Red Rock Amphitheatre in Colorado.
Reneau was preceded in death by her parents Emma Lou “Moyer” Chambers and Richard Kenneth Chambers of Blackwell, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband David, and her son Ryan and his wife Malana of Oklahoma City, five grandchildren Rilee and her partner Rachel, Violet, Zoie and her husband Aiden, William and Xavier. Reneau is also survived by two sisters Pam, and Stacy and her husband David Corneil and many more much-loved family members.

Reneau and I met and became friends in 6th grade at Northside Elementary when my family moved to North 8th Street. We shared a neighborhood and our “growing up” years as well as so many fun memories through jr high, high school and our 1st 3 semesters of college. We celebrated many birthdays together because we were born 2 days apart. Reneau and I sported those ridiculous red-and-white striped waitress outfits when we worked at Nickerson Farms. We were roommates when she met David and I was honored to stand up with them at their wedding along with her sister, Stacey. I regret that through the years we lost touch. On the rare occasions when we saw or talked with each other, we just picked up where we left off. I was so excited for when she completed her pharmacy degree (she was always the math and science whiz between the 2 of us in school). Even more, I was so happy for Reneau and David for the life and family they built and nurtured. Ted and I are sending our prayers to David and family as you remember and celebrate Reneau’s life. She will always hold a treasured part of my heart and life.
That is so sweet Susan! I did not know you were close friends!
We are beyond shocked to hear this news. We have so many fun memories with the entire Parrott family at Keystone Lake as well as visits to their home and trips to the state fair. Our hearts go out to all of you. We are at a loss for words but pray for strength and comfort to all of you.
Reneau was a beautiful woman who always kept her family first and loved big. We had so much fun traveling to Mexico and just hanging out at the lake. If you were a guest of Dave and Reneau’s you were treated like family. This news is such a shock and my prayers are going up for the Parrott family as you all navigate this time of grief and loss.
We were heartbroken to hear of the loss of our friend Reneau (Nae). Having fun and a real zest for life was what she strived for with Dave and her family. House-boating on Keystone Lake with Reneau was some of the best memories and we will always cherish those. She was an incredible cook and she was amazing with pairing wine with food. I was very fortunate to have enjoyed several sunset cruises with a good glass of Chardonnay or “blue bottle Relax”. I was fortunate to experience three bottles of very expensive wine with Reneau. Beached out at Ring a Ding beach on Keystone Lake. Next morning there was a smoldering fire with three bottle sticking up in the sand. There was also two places where we had rubbed our feet in the sand. Reneau often said “we are exfoliating our feet withe sand”. We traveled with them to New Orleans, Mexico, and California wine country. So many memories. Even though we will be unable to attend the service, Nae will continue to be in our hearts. “Yes we’ve had our cup of joy, but memories are a gift of God that death cannot destroy”. Love Always Steve and Nancy Self
Reneau while not part of our life for years will always be in our heart for her kindness to our daughters and grandson. We will never forget her having our daughter over and making homemade cookies. Our thoughts and prayers go out to David, Ryan’s and family.
Reneau was a special person. I have been going through some health issues. Reneau offered to take me to one of Dr. appointments. Not everyone would have offered. We had a chance to catch up. I remember when the Parrots had Halloween parties. She would always open her home to friends and family. She loved her grandchildren and everyone else. She will never be forgotten.
Oh I am so sad to hear of Reneau’s passing! I always enjoyed seeing her and Dave on Keystone Lake (D Dock) and I always remember thinking how much they both loved life! Prayers for the family and her multitude of friends during this difficult time!
We are stunned and heartbroken. We have so many fun and happy memories on lake keystone. Our prayers go out to Dave and the rest of the family.
We love you guys ❤️
I have so many great memories with Dave and Reneau at Keystone Lake. From nights camping at the beach to cold Christmas Parades. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. Thought and prayers to Dave and the family.
