Rebecca “Jan” Wilsey

Rebecca “Jan” Wilsey

January 6, 1950 – January 22, 2021

Rebecca “Jan” Wilsey, 71 of Edmond, Oklahoma was born January 6, 1950 in Okla. City, to Robert and Evelyn Hutchison. Jan is survived by her husband Patrick, her daughters, Jacquelyn Wilsey of Edmond, and Leslie Hill and her husband Brant of Edmond.  As well as her five grandchildren, Lyric, Reese, Joshua, Elliott and Major, and her brother James Hutchison and his wife Patricia of Edmond.

Our beloved “Granna” was married to the love of her life for 43 years and served him well as the professional domestic engineer of the home.  Jan enjoyed cooking meals for her family and baking cookies, usually everything was from scratch and most definitely always made with love.  She delighted in snuggling with the family dogs, sewing quilts for friends and family, as well as spending time in her garden watering and picking flowers to bring inside the house. Jan loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a prayer warrior and a peacemaker. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 “be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as Christ forgave you.”

Jan went to be with her Lord and Savior, January 22, 2021. She was a dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and she will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the amazing staff of OU Health and Science center for the incredible care they administered to her in her final days. We will miss her at our dinner table, but we know she is overjoyed to join her beloved Jesus at His table in heaven.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 27, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery with viewing at Matthews Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Dear Wilsey Family, I send my deepest condolences, love and prayers to each of you in the loss of Jan. She has been a huge part of my life and I am deeply saddened by her passing. There are so many stories that I could share about the mischief we have gotten into together. So dealing with this loss will not be easy. Even though I know that we will be reunited in heaven, the pain of the loss will have to be worked through. I pray that during this hour of sorrow and pain that we entrust our heart to God’s healing embrace, and let his love carry us through

Dear Family…. I’m heartbroken over this great loss. Love and prayers to you all as you process the grief of losing such a special part of your family🙏🏼 Jan was a special friend , precious prayer partner and intricate part of my life while raising kids together and growing in Christ! I know she will be missed because she was so very special and offered so much love and help to her family and friends❤️ May God grant you peace and comfort through this difficult time and ahead🙏🏼

  4. Pat, Jackie, Leslie…my heart aches for you all. I am literally in shock. There are no words that come close to expressing how sad I feel. I am so grateful to have known her and for what she did for me in my life. We always had so much fun. I will cherish my memories of her and so many of them make me laugh out loud! The most important thing she taught me was about Christ love for us. Pat, I still have the Bible you both gave me. Just knowing how strongly she believed, I am hoping it will give you all some comfort and one day help ease the incredible grief you all feel. I wish I could be there tomorrow to pay my respects and hug all of you. However, I will be there in spirit…thinking and praying for you all…the kids, too. I love you guys so much…God Bless, Nicole ❤️🙏🏼
