Walters, Ray fold pic cropRay Leon Walters was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on July 16, 1937 and passed away June 26, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cora and John Walters; and brother, Wallace A. Walters.

He is survived by his wife, Mary C. Walters of 54 years; and his three daughters, Debra Gambel, Cynthia Judd, and Cheryl Charter and husband Tim. He was a loving grandfather to Braden Judd, Justin Gambel, Alex Gambel, Kristine Charter and Brian Charter.

Ray served eleven years in the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer on the USS Yorktown and USS Oriskany. After a long career in the car business, he retired to his favorite jobs driving an Edmond Public School bus and a Red Carpet charter bus.

He loved his God, country and family. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Funeral services for Ray will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond.

    I am so sorry to hear about Ray. I was so shocked when I saw this in the paper. We shared alot of time together at work
