Ray Leon Walters was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on July 16, 1937 and passed away June 26, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cora and John Walters; and brother, Wallace A. Walters.
He is survived by his wife, Mary C. Walters of 54 years; and his three daughters, Debra Gambel, Cynthia Judd, and Cheryl Charter and husband Tim. He was a loving grandfather to Braden Judd, Justin Gambel, Alex Gambel, Kristine Charter and Brian Charter.
Ray served eleven years in the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer on the USS Yorktown and USS Oriskany. After a long career in the car business, he retired to his favorite jobs driving an Edmond Public School bus and a Red Carpet charter bus.
He loved his God, country and family. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Funeral services for Ray will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond.
