Ray Friesen was born to John and Irene Friesen on June 6, 1929 in Custer County and entered his heavenly home on December 7, 2013. Ray served four years in the Air Force and felt honored to serve his country. After his service he then attended Southwestern State College where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. He married Alma Doerksen on June 22, 1958 and together they had four children. Ray held several positions including office manager for a construction business, owner and operator of a sandblasting business, and a feed store. After retiring, he worked as a custodian for the Edmond Public School Systems. At an early age Ray accepted Jesus as his Savior and was baptized in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church. Ray devoted his life to Christ first and then his family. He especially loved travelling with his wife Alma on Christian cruises.
