Hill, RalphRalph Oscar Hill was born June 12, 1914 in Laton, CA to the late Drury Oscar and Myra Eliza Hill. He passed away at his home in OKC, on Dec. 23, 2017. He served in the U.S. Army in the 1940’s and was a Veteran of WWII.

Ralph was the oldest of 6 siblings (2 Brothers and 3 Sisters) and an adopted sister. He married Josephine Hendzel on April 14, 1945 in OKC at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He worked for Western Commercial, hauling crude oil for 27 years retiring in 1984. During his lifetime he received many awards. In 1983 he received 2nd place in the Oil Field Haulers Assoc. for the Best Driver of the Year, 1983 27-year Safety Award, 1981 Gold Award in Outstanding Achievement, 1980 Silver Award for Distinguished Service and the 1976 Driver of the Year Award by the Motor Carriers of Oklahoma. He enjoyed working on cars, photography and his dogs.

He is survived by his 2nd wife Florine Collins whom he married in June 28, 2008 in Shawnee, OK. His two sisters Myrtle Haddix, and Lita Mullen of California. His amazing life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children, Jerry Tigrett, OKC, Mary Jo Smith and husband David of OKC, Allen Dale Hill and wife Paula of Moore, OK, Virginia Vaughn and husband Jimmy of Norman, OK, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Lewis and husband Bob, of Edmond, OK and Kathleen Price of Edmond, OK. He is also survived by, 15 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Josephine, and Granddaughter Josie Ann Vaughn.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, OKC. Viewing will be held from 10:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

“Ralphie” will be missed by all the lives he touched in his 103 years of life.
