Peggy Jo Ormson, 90, of Piedmont, OK passed away September 27, 2016 in Oklahoma City, OK. Peggy was born July 6, 1926 in Wewoka, OK to Albert Nealy and Edna Pauline (Johnson) Rogers. Peggy attended Pampa High school and graduated in 1943. During World War II she was an operator for Southwestern Bell. Later she returned to work at Southwestern Bell in Oklahoma City and retired in 1992. After the war she began her passion of Newspaper Journalism. She worked for various newspapers and most recently was writing for Piedmont Gazette. Peggy was an active volunteer at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a counter of funds, was in charge of the baptismal documents, nursery role, provided meals for multiple events and services and took advantage of many other opportunities to serve in various ways. Peggy was a true and faithful Christian servant, believing that Christ was her Lord and Savior.  Her Christian lifestyle set the supreme example for others.  She encouraged her family, friends and all others that she met to also follow this Christian path.  This legacy will live on and never be forgotten.

Peggy enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, dancing, bowling and caring for various dogs and cats over the years. She also loved spending time with her children, Grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Nealy and Edna (Brownie) Rogers. She is survived by her children; Trina Adwendolyn Henderson (Frost), Benny Neal Ormson, and Gabrielle Jo Wackerly, grandchildren; William Neal Ashcraft, Teresa Dawn Ormson, Shiela Rene Robertson, John Edward Ashcraft, and Hannah Jo Cobb, great-grandchildren; Trentin Neal Alexander Flacy and Lennon Nykole Gossett; and brother Doyle Edward Rogers.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
