Rahall, PatriciaPauline Anna Rahhal was born April 25, 1936 in Anadarko, OK. Her parents were Mike and Adleda Massad. She moved with her parents to Apache, OK at the age of 5. She attended Apache Public Schools and graduated in 1954. She was graduating class Valedictorian, served as Class President, Yearbook Editor in Chief, Band and Band twirler, and cheerleader. She was also OK and National Honor Society and selected to represent her school at Girls State where she was elected State Attorney General. She attended the University of Oklahoma after which she worked at Fort Sill OK Army Base as head of Officer Personnel. In 1958, along came Lindbergh (Lindy) J. Rahhal, M.D., the love of her life. He serenaded her with trumpet solos, took her on fishing trips and to OU football games. They married a year later and had 55 wonderful years together. They have 4 children; John M. Rahhal, M.D., Steve Rahhal, J.D., Scott Rahhal, M.D., and Tamara (Rahhal) Schulkind, Ph.D. Pauline was the ultimate mother, active in her children’s activities including PTA Officer, Home Room Mother, Cub Scout Den Mother, Band Mother, Athletic Booster and many more. She continued to be involved in her children’s university years serving as Beta Mom’s President (boys’ fraternity) and Pi Phi Mom’s President (daughter’s sorority).

Pauline was active in many community organizations including Medical Auxiliary, Volunteer Baptist Mission, Hospitality Club and others. She and Lindy are charter members of Oak Tree Golf and Country Club where she was a member of the Oak Tree book club and mahjong group. She and her husband have been long time Disciples of Christ Church members. The last 22 years at First Christian Church of Edmond where she served as Deaconess, Bible school volunteer, Stevens Minister and Breakfast on Boulevard. She was an active member of Bible Study Fellowship, serving as a faithful childrens’ leader for several years. Pauline was loved and admired by all who knew her and she touched so many with her smile, her faith and her generous heart. She was adored by her five grandchildren who called her Siti (Lebanese for grandma).

Pauline is survived by her husband, Lindbergh J. Rahhal, M.D.; sons, John Rahhal, M.D. and his wife Sarah, of Edmond; Steve Rahhal, J.D., of Dallas, TX; Scott Rahhal, M.D. and his wife Pam, of Tulsa; Tamara (Rahhal,) Schulkind, Ph.D. and her husband Matt Schulkind, Ph.D., of Amherst, MA; Siti’s grandchildren; Megan and Madison Rahhal, Matthew Rahhal and the twins, Jake and Abby Schulkind. She also leaves behind two brothers, Tony Massad, J.D. and his wife Mary, of Frederick, OK and Paul Massad, M.D. and his wife Nina, of Edmond; and one sister, Neda Margy, of Huntington Beach, CA; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly. Many thanks to the First Christian Church Ministers, Chris Shorow and Jerry Black and the entire church congregation. Thanks also to Doctors Aleda Toma, Barrati, Elliot and Murray, and the Frontier Hospice staff; in particular Steve, Marie and Nicole. We extend a special thanks to our wonderful neighbors and friends, especially the East Oak Place residents.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the First Christian Church of Edmond, with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

    Pauline was always so gracious and kind to me. I am saddened to learn of her death. May God comfort your family in this time of loss.
