Smith, Paul obitPaul Duane Smith born August 2, 1934 of Oklahoma City (but spent most of his life in Edmond) went to be with his parents Emzy Raymond and Cynthia Jewel Smith and siblings Betty Collier, Raymond Smith Jr., William Smith and Norma Cole on March 19, 2013.

So sorry to learn of Paul’s passing. My deepest sympathy to the family. Paul and I played in the highschool and reserve bands together and we have talked a few times over the years. He even played with my band “The Flying High Band” at the “Peidmont Frontier Days” a few years ago. I allways enjoyed my association with Paul , he was a very pleasant person.

Paul not only made everyone laugh he ever met but he saved a life as well…my life. I’m sure Cindy and Gail and Barbara remember that day. If he made a nickel for everyone he made laugh in his life and gave it to the USA…..which he would….there would be no hunger…poverty…or National Debt. He taught me how to play trumpet…read and learn music and golf and how to live life with happiness and laughter and full of zest. God blessed him.

Paul was highly thought of by my husband Charles and my son Danny. He worked well with them and was respected for his integrity. Charles will enjoy greeting him in heaven and he will not be forgotten by anyone who knew him. My condolences are extended to his family and I know how much you will miss him.

  7. I remember my father driving us over to Paul’s house when I was a tot to pick up prints and drafting jobs he would do for us. He was always smiling and ready to crack a joke to bring the mood up! As I grew older and became a Land Surveyor myself, it was always a joy to be in contact with Paul over the years. My father, Charlie Cahill, passed away about 1 1/2 years ago, and now I read that Paul had passed also. All I can say is that the OSLS Convention will not be the same when I don’t hear Paul’s voice, but he will be there in spirit.
