1936-2021

Patsy Ruth Jones Rannells, who resides in Edmond Oklahoma, died October 9th, 2021 at 85 years of age. Patsy, also known as Pat, was born on March 3, 1936, in Loop, Texas. She was the second born to Alvin Enoch Jones and to Inez Sybil Smith Jones.

Patsy graduated from Salinas High School in Salinas, California 1954 where she enjoyed singing in the Girls’ Choir.  She went on to attend Southwestern Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas from 1954 to 1957 earning her junior college diploma and serving as the Mission’s Secretary one year. Patsy then returned to California where she met and eventually married a young Assembly of God minister, Robert (Bob) R. Rannells on August 4th, 1962. Together they ministered in a total of four states first in Evangelism, and then in various ministries: Assembly of God, Charismatic, Marriage Ministries International and Free Methodist serving God, and people.  Patsy put her administrative gifts to use over the years as a mother and a homemaker, teacher, office administrator, and bookkeeper – the most recent being for Radial Engines from which she retired at the age of 76.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert R. Rannells, and her brother, Jerry D. Jones, and is survived by her two daughters Robin McDonald and Christa Banks, her sister Wanda Hampton, her granddaughters Renae McDonald and Isabelle McDonald, her five great-grandchildren and many dear friends across the country.

Visitation will be held from 12-8 pm, Thursday, October 21st at Matthews Funeral Home with family greeting friends from 5-7 pm. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 22, 2021 at Spring Creek Assembly of God Church in Edmond, OK with interment to follow at Navina Cemetery in Guthrie, OK.

    Steve and I miss Bob, and Pat. They have been a big part of our lives as Steve’s brother, our sister-in-law, close friends and all part of the same family in Christ. Some day we will all be together again. We are very disappointed we won’t be with you to celebrate Pat’s life this weekend.
