Patricia Olive Yorke

Patricia Olive Yorke

1940-2024

Patricia Olive Yorke, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on August 22, 2024, at the age of 84. Born in 1940 in Montreal, Canada, Patricia, who often went by Pat, lived a life filled with love, compassion, and creativity.

At 19, Patricia Yorke, immigrated to the United States, where she began working as a nurse at a local hospital. She later married Stephen Young and started her family. Together they had three children Lori, Darryl, and Teresa (Teri).

In 1973, Pat remarried Rocky Yorke. They enjoyed 50 wonderful years together until his passing in 2023. Together, they embraced adventure, demonstrated the love they have for family and created countless cherished memories. Their journey was filled with laughter, sorrows and many blessings but mostly a spirit of love that touched everyone around them.

At the heart of Patricia’s life was her talent as an artist. Her work earned countless awards, but those of us fortunate enough to have some of her paintings know they carry something more—They represent her: her love, her compassion, and her deep appreciation for the beauty which surrounds us all. Her legacy lives on not only in her art, but also in the hearts of all who knew her. Her kindness and gift for making everyone feel like a friend will never be forgotten.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, leading her to be an active member of Crossings Community Church, where she found a sense of community and shared her generous spirit.

She is survived by her three children, Lori, Darryl, and Teresa (Teri), as well as her three stepchildren, James, Christy, and David. Together she and Rocky have 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her legacy of love and care will continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Patricia will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her, but her memory will remain a source of inspiration and warmth.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave to others.

A celebration of her life will be held on September 6, 2024, 2:00pm at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel, 601 S. Kelly Ave, Edmond, OK 73003.
