Patricia Ann Minard

1948 – 2022

Patricia Ann Minard, most-loved wife, Mother, and Mimi, went in peace on September 23, 2022 at the age of 74.

Patricia was born on January 22, 1948 to Edwin “Earl” and Jennie Zoenell “Nell” Henderson in Amarillo, Texas. She considered Edmond, Oklahoma home where she lovingly raised her son and daughter and gave her heart to many kitties throughout the years- especially her beloved Riley cat.

She attended Texas Tech University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1969. She worked for a short time as a teacher and then later as a labor and delivery educator in Oklahoma City.

On January 13, 1973, Patricia married her devoted and fun-loving husband, David, in Pampa, Texas. Their 50 years of marriage were full of love, laughter, and playful teasing that always resulted in a sweet giggle and a sparkle in her eyes. She was his favorite hello and his hardest goodbye.

Patricia was passionate about music and theater. She could often be caught dancing around to a favorite song in the living room or bedroom. Her favorite date nights were to see a Broadway musical or a concert with a world-renowned vocalist.

She was the best Mom. She was the biggest cheerleader at every gymnastics meet, band concert, dance recital, football game, theater performance, and music concert. She spent many hours lovingly gluing sequins and rhinestones to dance costumes, organizing fundraisers, baking special themed birthday cakes, and traveling to see her kid’s performances. Her investment in her children and grandchildren is her greatest gift of all.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father Edwin Earl Henderson, maternal grandparents Walter and Mary Gillispie, and paternal grandparents Alva and Besse Henderson.

She is survived by her husband, David; son Jason and his wife, Amanda; daughter Sarah Glass and her husband, Michael; 2 grandchildren, Colin and Sydney; Mother Nell Henderson; brother Alva Henderson and his wife, Brenda; sister Carolyn Greene; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be a private celebration of life in Edmond, OK with close family members in the coming weeks. She will be missed beyond measure by all who loved and knew her.
