1952-2018
Mrs. Pamela Joy Hesby went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 21, 2018.
Pamela was born on August 15, 1952 to Thearin Louis Maize and Wanza Wynona Maize in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her mother chose her middle name to be Joy because she said she was the joy of her life! She was the baby of the family and took great pleasure in playing with and aggravating her brother Terry and sister Bobbie. Pamela attended Deer Creek schools and graduated from high school in 1970. She married the love of her life David Hesby in 1974, and they made their home in Edmond, OK. They had 2 sons and a daughter and were happily married for 44 years.
Throughout her career, she served in many different organizations in retail, food-service, medical, and mortgage processing, but she spent the majority of her working years serving as a head custodian for the Edmond public School System. She loved children and always worked very hard to make sure her schools were safe, clean, and inviting for the kids, their families, teachers, and staff.
Pamela had a true heart for people and enjoyed loving on and serving any that God put in her path. She was an absolutely amazing cook and loved making favorite dishes for her family, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was very thoughtful and made each and every day special.
She had such a sweet and caring spirit and was a wonderfully loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and sister, but most importantly, she was a forgiven child of God. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior when she was 14 years old and shared His Love and Light with all she came in contact with throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband David Hesby of Edmond, OK, her daughter Angelic Crawford and husband Ethan of San Angelo, TX, her son Brian Hesby and wife Renee of Edmond, OK, her brother Terry Maize and wife Fannie of Peru, her sister Bobbie Nuner of Edmond, OK, her grandchildren William Crawford and wife Jamie, Andrew Crawford and wife Addie, Jake, Joey Wilson, Malaki, Mailee and Lauren Hesby and her great granddaughter Addilynn Grace Crawford. Her son James Hesby went to Heaven in 2007.
We love and mis you greatly but know you are completely healed and are praising God, and we rejoice in the day we will be reunited with you in Heaven! Thanks be to God for His amazing love and eternal promises! He is so faithful!
“Therefore we do no lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Very fitting for an absolutely amazing woman whom I was blessed to call my Best Friend for over 35 years.
You were a great friend first and then a very much loved sister-in-law. I will miss you. Rest in the comfort of God’s arms.
RIP Pam. You were a truly amazing person and will be dearly missed. I will always remember the banana pudding you would make us.
Thinking of my former students, Lauren and Mailee, with the loss of their grandmother. You are in my thoughts and prayers!
