1928-2015

Rhames, Ocie 2nd pic for foldersOcie Mae Rhames was born April 2, 1928, in Cement, Oklahoma, and went to be with her Lord and Savior April 20, 2015, in Oklahoma City, OK. Having lived in Cement and then Anadarko, her family later moved to Lawton, OK. Ocie attended Cameron University. She met her loving husband, A.H. “Pete” Rhames, in Lawton. Together, in a marriage that lasted more than 50 years, they had 3 wonderful children.

Ocie attended Cameron University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University and obtained her Master’s in Early Childhood Education. She taught 2nd grade in Burns Flat, Oklahoma, for many years and then taught Kindergarten in Deer Creek where she was named Teacher of the Year and eventually retired after 25 years of teaching.

Ocie loved God, her family, friends and her faithful companion, her dog “Bo.” She was a fantastic cook and she loved preparing food for everyone. One never went to her house without being offered something to eat. Needless to say, you never left hungry. Her yard and flower gardens were displays of perfection! She spent many hours planting, pruning, and attending to her flowers. Ocie was an avid fan of both OU and OSU sports, KU basketball and, of course, the OKC Thunder! Ocie was an extremely devoted woman of God. She loved her church and church family. She could, and would, tell you anything you wanted to know about the Bible. She read it cover-to-cover many times and continued reading it daily until her death. She said many times, during the last few years of her life, that she was ready to go to her eternal home. She is now rejoicing in Heaven with many loved ones.

Our loving Mom, Grandma, Aunt, and friend is survived by: daughter Teresa Price of Edmond, and her daughters Tausha and Trinity Price; son Brett Rhames and his wife Deann of Leander, Texas, and their daughters Shea and Cali Rhames and Shelbi Lewis; daughter Tami Andrews and her husband Frank of Edmond, and their sons Bryan and Cameron Miles and Trey and Kyle Andrews; her adopted son and grandson Corey Rhames and his wife Jennifer of Oklahoma City, and 3 great grandchildren, Kendall Guiterezz, Noah Price and Seth Miles as well as other extended family and friends. Ocie was preceded in death by her parents Golda and Pat Stevenson, her husband A.H. “Pete” Rhames, her sister Jackie Caldwell, and grandson Riley Andrews.
