Neal McGee
December 29, 1960 – September 14, 2021
Neal Lindsey McGee, beloved husband and father, was welcomed in to Heaven by his Lord and Savior on September 14, 2021. He was 60 years old.
Neal was born in Oklahoma City, OK on December 29, 1960 to his parents Reece and Lou McGee. He graduated from Edmond Memorial High School, class of 1979. Neal married his high school sweetheart and soulmate, Leah Kay Burns on August 21st 1981. Together they were blessed with three daughters, Lindsey, Brooke, and Ashley.
Neal was a second generation builder and developer. He was the president of Neal McGee Homes, Inc. He enjoyed building and working with families to create their dream homes in Edmond and surrounding areas. He also enjoyed commercial building and developing and seeing his visions come to life. Neal loved giving back to the community, and over the years contributed to many charitable organizations such as: churches, law enforcement, Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Together, St. Jude Dream Home and Folds of Honor.
Neal lived life to the fullest, and cherished the time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, entertaining and going to Lake Texoma. Neal never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone. He had an ability to make everyone feel important and was always the life of the party! He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, Wednesday night crew, lake family, and all who worked with him.
Neal was proceeded in death by his:
Parents Reece & Lou McGee; Brother Randy McGee, and Grandson Zeke Zabel.
Neal leaves cherished memories with his:
Wife: Leah McGee
Daughters: Lindsey Zabel & Husband Matt; Brooke Zaitshik & Husband Ethan; Ashley Ward & Husband Cody.
Grandchildren: Zoey & Oliver Zaitshik, Vivian & Vance Ward, and Zander Zabel.
Sisters: Risa Wilkins McKinney & Husband Karl; Janelle Sparks & Husband Dan.
Mother & Father In-Law Hal & Merna Burns;
Sister in-law Ginger Ogle & Husband Kevin.
Many Nieces & Nephews, and countless friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life held for Neal at 2:00 PM on October 14, 2021

I never knew Neal, but through my Blessed and Loving neighbor Merna Burns I felt like I was part of the family. Merna always kept me informed about all the family. I know that Neal will be missed by his wife, children, grand children, extended family as well as all his friend. He will also be missed by all that knew him.

Leah, I’m so sorry you have lost your partner. Your beautiful family has always been so warm and welcoming to mine. I have said many prayers for you, and will continue to keep you and your beautiful daughters in my prayers. I loved reconnecting at Morgan’s wedding- I pray for you to find peace, and know God will surround you and your daughters with love during this time of grief.
