Nancy Minyon Spear

March 11, 1933 – October 30, 2014

Nancy Minyon Spear, age 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior October 30, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family and many Church friends. She was born on March 11, 1933, in Seminole, Oklahoma.spear nancy

Nancy met the love of her life in 1951 and it was love at first sight for both of them. Jack knew she was the only one for him after only one kiss. Jackie Floyd Spear and Nancy were married June 4, 1952. They were blessed with three children: Chris Ellen, Mark Wayne, and Jack Andrew “Drew” Spear. During her child-rearing years she obtained both her undergraduate and graduate degrees Summa Cum Laude. She first taught special education children, kindergarten, and first grade. She retired from teaching as librarian at the Piedmont Elementary School. Her never-ending quest for knowledge led to a life in the Word.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend Jack; her brother Gerald H. Williams of Caney Kansas and his wife Nancy, and their daughter Sherry Tayrieh.

She is survived also by her daughter Chris and her husband Dennis Box; son Mark and his wife Gaylynn; and her son Drew; her dear grandchildren, Jeremy Overstreet, Becca Overstreet, Rachel Sanders and her husband Grant Sanders, Chase Nottingham, Chartney Spear, and Bailee Spear; and two great-grandchildren, Gavyn & Layla Overstreet, plus many other family members.

We love you so much Mom and will miss your daily presence in all our lives. R.B.C.

Services for Nancy will be 10:00am Monday November 3, 2014 at Edmond’s First Baptist Church with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Baptist Boys Ranch, Edmond, Oklahoma.

I just this moment read of Nancy’s homegoing. Our God of All Comfort will continue helping you as only He can.

Psalm 116:15 NIV– “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.”

    Loving, praying, caring,
